Some people take daring action to curb issues stopping them from moving forward.  There are some who have not taken any measure to curb issues festering in their private space; they live with these issues hoping someday it would go away. Each day these persons wake up with great burden or regrets on what they could have or would have done to curb the issues that festered so long disrupting their progress. On my quest for success, I will not assume issues will just go away but I will create history by not nursing regrets, and better the present by continuing to press on, making daring, timely and decisive decision to go forward and not remain stagnant.

Are you prepared?

Yesterday's blog was on "Hell's" hallway. There is also a time for merriment; a time many celebrate  their achievements in whatever they have been pursuing. These achievements did not just happen on them but happened because of strong belief in their ability to achieve whatever they have set their hearts to accomplish. These person's had sleepless nights studying or at some point, deprived themselves of pleasure to achieve whatever they achieved. On my quest for success, I will be armed with the truth that success does not jump on people's laps; they prepare for it and they know its' a long time coming.

Is there "hell" in the hallway?

When "hell's" cycle is complete, success submits to all still standing ~ Ochuko
There is a time and season for everything on the face of the earth. A time comes when it seems all "hell" broke loose at the sight of one. "Hell" is like a challenge, it happens for a reason. And as one fights to get out of the hallway of "hell" when the reason for which it came has not been accomplished, the more it deepens till the cycle is complete. Knowledge and understanding is the only weapon a person has  to come out alive, strong and better as "hell's hallway" which forms part of the "big picture" can either make or break a person. As I continue on my quest for success, I will be armed with the truth that all that transpires in my life is tied to the big picture and that I will achieve whatever I am pursuing in the end regardless.

Are you blocking the flow of your river?

Being obstinate blocks the unfolding of events in a person's life ~ Ochuko
When events occur that are beyond my control I will take it in good fate. On the flip side, when events occur that is within my control and I stand in the way, I am literally blocking the flow of the river of events in my life. On my quest for success, when I am told for instance to apologize to an employer or a business partner for inappropriate conduct  I will do it will all honesty to keep the relationship, keep my job, and in-turn increase the trust level. Otherwise, I will be blocking the flow of events and in-turn blocking my progress because I will be resisted in everyway possible and this can make me stagnant on my quest for success.

Do you get stuck on stupid?

Not daring to take a step equals blocking your own prosperity ~ Ochuko
I have heard the phrase, "I don't like begging". When I say this, I am really saying, "I want to be poor".  Truth of the matter is no one likes begging that's why some people suffer. If I do not have the wherewithal to start a business and I do not have a job currently what do I do? I bet the answer is, "seek help". In seeking help, I have taken a step to advance on my quest for success. Staying put and not do something about it is being stupid and i will be stuck for a long time until i make a move.

Is self-esteem essential for success?

Success journey begins from the point of self-worth ~ Ochuko
When I look in the mirror, do i like what i see? Liking what I see is the starting point for success. If i do not like what i see, it will be very difficult to associate with people. If I am not able to associate with people how do I have the courage or inner strength to achieve success in anything? On my quest for success, I will be armed with the truth that lack of self-esteem equals failure. And so, i will define who i am by embracing myself and attaching a price tag and finally advancing on my success quest.

Is “worry” a traitor?

Worrying distorts sight and impedes constructive thinking ~ Ochuko
These are times where only the strong survive. As the years roll by things may get worse but it is up to me to prepare for the raining day. Worrying about the rain will not stop the rain but an umbrella will definitely cushion its effect. On my quest for success, I will be armed with the fact that worrying cannot stop the rain in its season but I sure can prepare for it long before its arrival. I will get me an umbrella in the dry season in anticipation of the raining season knowing it will surely come.

What is on your disc?

Nowadays people carry tons of unnecessary weight on their mind and this clog their thinking. They do not think beyond the point of that weight. The weight could be anger or bitterness. They play it over and over again. They rehearse how to be angry by telling their friends about the hurt and they do not get past there.  On my quest for success, I will not let mundane things fester in the disc of my heart, I will play, repeat and rehearse my success plan over and over, I will not stop until I see myself succeeding.

Can you give what you don't have?

A leopard and a cheetah are two distinct animals, likewise an alligator and a crocodile. There is no way one can be mistaken for the other. This can be compared to a person with principles and values and a person without. I cannot give or produce what I do not have. If I do not uphold good values and principles, I will display a personality without values and character. On my quest for success, I will uphold principles and values that I live by and give nothing less. If I do not have principles and values that guide me, it means my personality is not rightly founded and I cannot give what I do not have.

Do you carefully choose your words?

Spoken words cannot be retrieved; think before you speak ~ Ochuko

On my quest for success, i will be careful to not speak too quickly when required to. I will carefully think through what i intend saying and carefully choose my words because,  at times my success is contingent upon a carefully worded speech or an intelligent conversation with the right persons in attendance.

Do you invest in things that yield good dividend?

Success comes after many sacrifices and repeated effort ~ Ochuko
Success has no choice of whom to favor each dawn. As people rise each morning they make choices that favor or mar them. Some make deliberate effort to pure their life savings into investment in stocks while some pure their life savings into buying the latest trend in things. Some sleep and watch T.V. all day while some work and yearn for knowledge.  In the near future these two sets of persons will be separated by the choices made. On my quest for success, I will be willing and ready to pay the price for success.  I will go the extra mile by investing in things that will yield good dividends.

Are you searching for happiness?

No magic formula for happiness, it resides within you ~ Ochuko
On my quest for success, I will be armed with the fact that happiness is a treasure and it is found only in making others happy or in serving others.  I also will not search for happiness because happiness cannot be found in things or in the object of my affection. Happiness cannot be found in wealth too. In helping others find themselves I generate happiness from within which is soothing and everlasting.

Do all humans deserve respect and dignity?

On my quest for success, I will learn to give dignity and respect to the wealthy and the poor alike without distinction. I will learn to treat all humans the same no matter their status, where they are from, their color, race, and ethnicity. I will take into cognizance; the good, bad, ugly and evil reside in all colors. Some persons may be mean, kind and generous, poor, dirty, and wealthy. Some may put on a smile all day, some may put on a grin all day but in spite of all these, I will treat all men with equal value. All human deserve to be treated with respect and dignity in spite of their present status or personalities.

Can you hit that mark?

Strong persuasion with the right intent yields success ~ Ochuko.
When I look back now, i just laugh. There are times things do not seem like they should after all said and done. Please, don't give up, hang in there because you will look back and laugh someday. On my quest for success, I resolved to not get easily swayed by events around me. I keep my cool and put before me my objective which is like a lamp in the dark. These objectives guide me again and again. When I fail to achieve an objective, I do not give up on myself but find another route to accomplishing same objective and finally, hit the mark over time. Do not give up easily, my hunch is, you can hit that mark.

Does clarity of purpose produce success?

Clarity of purpose produces greater possibility of success ~ Ochuko.
On my quest for success, I should have clarity of purpose. Clarity speaks of illumination. The more clarity I have about a subject the more likelihood of success. The less clarity I have about a subject the less likelihood of success. I should know who I am, where i am, what I have versus what I do not have and weigh these against "how" I am getting to that place I so desire.

Do you seek knowledge before leaping?

Ignorance is not an excuse for failure to be accepted ~ Ochuko.
Failure can only be accepted if and only if I had prior knowledge of how to get to my desired destination and I did all I could to sumount obstacles,  but stumbled; I will seek to move forward again afterwards.  On my quest for success, I will seek understanding and knowledge about a trade or business before i venture into it. I will prioritize and make quick exchanges in my mind to get clarity on the reason why I intend to do what I want to do and match it up with action.

Can life lessons be learned from anyone & at anytime?

Education is not achieved only from just attending a formal school after paying tuition. Life lessons can be learned from anywhere ranging from being at table with someone I look up to, listening to an intelligent speaker, reading books with life lessons and listening to the words of those who have learned to climb through the ropes of life to get to the top. On my quest for success, I will definitely listen more than talk when I meet with people with varying educational status & opinions about issues, and not pull out the age tab to determine their ages because life lessons can be learned from adults as well as children.

Do you function in wisdom?

Wisdom is not an abstract term nor is it an unrealistic way of living. Wisdom can be likened to common sense. But, of course the popular legend says, 'common sense is not so common". On my quest for success, I will function in this life with wisdom and common sense by giving respect to whom respect is due, respecting the opinions and choices of others, functioning in mercy and grace, doing the right thing at the right time with the right intent and showing regard for all men. That is common sense!

What thoughts are you nursing?

Yesterday's blog was on thought being the starting point for success. Thoughts come before incubation, planning and finally delivery of a dream. On my quest for success, I will be careful on the kind of thoughts I incubate/nurse because whatever my thoughts are is inconsequential, it will yield result anyway.  The more thought I incubate/nurse, the more it materializes because the human body aligns and responds quickly to the minds thoughts.

Is reprimand the greatest love of all?

On my quest for success, when I join myself to a business group or get involved with persons of questionable personality and i am called by a senior/boss/colleague or friend and told about the looming danger if i continue to stick with these people; I will not disdainfully brush their advise aside, but with careful consideration and evaluate of my relationship with them, i will draw conclusions on whether or not to continue the relationship 'cos reprimand is the greatest love of all.

Do you carry your family along...?

On my quest for success, I will thrive for success and excellence in all i do. While i am at this, I will not fail to carry my family along and keep reminding them of the fact that, if I succeed,  it's to everyone's credit and if I fail, we fail together.  Families who are closely knit do not seek to succeed to spite the other; they work together in everyway possible for the success of everyone, otherwise there would be jealousy, and jealousy breeds hatred which will in-turn make me restless and slow me down in my pursuit of success.

Do you greet others while still seated?

On my quest for success, I will not take for granted some simple courtesy. When I go to see a business partner or potential business partner in a meeting place and I am seated waiting for their arrival, I will be alert while i wait. As they arrive and walk in  towards me, it is my wisdom to rise to my feet and greet them. It is sheer foolishness to still be seated while they are standing with hands stretched for a hand shake.

Do you speak alien language in the midst of others?

On my quest for success, it is my wisdom to not speak an alien language in the midst of friends  or strangers who do not understand same. Doing this is a strong indication of how stupid I am, as a result, a bright red flag tagged "unwise" would have been sent to the people around me and can ruin a great relationship that may have been that single connection that I need to get me to that place of my dream.

Do you cower at the sight of roadblocks?

Success only comes to those who are willing to take the challenge. ~ Ochuko.

On my quest for success, when I meet a roadblock, I will not cower but be open to other ways i can make progress. I can only find a way if I take a chance. What is life after all? Life is about being strong and taking the plunge to getting ahead day after day and finally helping others do same.

Success only embraces people who love responsibilities ~ Ochuko.
On my quest for success, I will be glad to take on more jobs from the bosses on my job or on the business. The more i take on responsibilities and do them right, the more i get the best coming my way. The more i dodge responsibilities, the more the best eludes me. Success ladder is only handed to me when I have mastered the art of smiling when i am handed responsibilities anywhere.

Are you discreet about your plans?

On my quest for success, I will learn to be discreet. Being discreet is the wisest thing i can ever do for myself if i ever want to make progress. If I always open my mouth and brag to everyone about what i intend doing; there is the likelihood some folks will go before me and make the journey more difficult. No one is my enemy but me; for opening my mouth so wide and revealing my plans to all-and-sundry.

Why keep the assets & remain poor?

On my quest for success,  If I have a land, T.V. set, couch, car and I seek education or business capital; I will sell those and get me a job to supplement the funds to get me business capital or an education. A poor person's mentality is to have the T.V., couch, land and car, and still seek for funds from friends or relatives for education.  If I keep the assets I will not make progress, why not sell the assets and make progress. Now, this is different from those who's assets cost nothing, but there is a way to make progress.

Do you act on impulse?

On my quest for success I will not go shopping on impulse, neither will I speak nor make a decision on sensitive issues that require urgent response on impulse. While it is good to make timely decisions; it is also good to ponder on them before making a final decision.  Acting on impulse is a sure road to mediocre land - NOWHERE.

Do you know when to say goodbye?

Successful persons know when a conversation has reached its peak.  On my quest for success, I will socialize or mix up with people but I won't be so engrossed in a conversation with them to the extent that I weary them with my constant change of topic. I should be able to tell when the discussion has reached its peak and to say goodbye or call it a day.
